The Baroque 18th Century building was in a derelict condition due to long-term neglect and was in imminent danger of destruction. The reconstruction preserved the monumental value of the original building combined with residential apartments and in the inner block a new building was created with hotel rooms. A glazed communication hall with reception and bar is located on the ground floor along with a prestige gallery exhibiting antique art, shops and the hotel breakfast room. The much discussed and difficult rehabilitation of the whole complex brought to this borderline area of the heritage reservation a new and appropriate method of quality exploitation.
